The President’s Speech

    Founded in October 2005 in Beijing as the national organization of agriculture industry under All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce(ACFIC), China Agriculture Industry Chamber of Commerce (CAICC) is the first national organization of agriculture industry in China composed mainly of the leading agricultural enterprises.
    CAICC was initiated by a group of entrepreneurs in the agriculture industry to represent the common interests of the numerous non-state-owned agricultural enterprises in China, link the government with and assist the government in the governance of these enterprises, and promote the sustainable development and international cooperation of China’s agriculture industry. Our goal is to jointly aid our member enterprises in their healthy development, expedite China’s agricultural industrialization and the construction of new countryside, and contribute to the increased farmers?income and the wealthier rural areas.
    CAICC includes a number of top non-state-owned enterprises in agriculture industry. Our 91 founding members are all “Leading Enterprises of Agriculture Industry?at the national or provincial/municipal level, including the renowned national brands like Transfar, Sanquan, New Hope, JuneYao, Shuanghui, and Huiyuan. Affiliated with CAICC members are 10 Representatives of National People’s Congress (NPC) , 5 members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference(CPPCC), and 11 members of the Standing Committee of All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce. Thirteen of our individual members have won the title of “National Working Model? Many other individual members are the representatives of local People’s Congress, People’s Political Consultative Conference and Federation of Industry and Commerce. There are also many individual members working as leaders of local chambers of commerce. The members have also won all kinds of local honorary titles like the Working Model. Most of the individual members have received post-secondary education, with some having MBAs and doctoral degrees. The member enterprises are mainly engaged in the industrialized operation of agriculture, forestry, stockbreeding, and fishery. The specific areas include agricultural technology, feed, pesticides, farming machines, wineries, furniture, and eco-agriculture. Many member enterprises operate in planting and stockbreeding, processing, storage and transportation, merchandising, and foreign trade across the whole industry chain.
    Due to the outstanding status of the issues of agriculture, countryside and farmers in China’s developing strategy, CAICC, as the non-profit chamber of commerce under ACFIC, will serve the goal of “Integrating the social resources to promote member prosperity and combining talent and power of the members to make the people wealthier and the country stronger .? We will disseminate the national policies, push ahead the industry self-discipline, and develop international exchange and cooperation. While helping the member enterprises in their healthy development, we will do our part, with sincere and practical service, to make the farmers and the countryside wealthier, promote the industrialization of China’s agriculture, and build a new countryside of China.
    Confucius said: “The Great Kindness of Heaven and Earth is Life.?It’s the highest honor and the common responsibility of CAICC and the many leading agricultural enterprises in China to be able to work for the livelihood, wealth and power of people using the modern industrial spirit.
